Use Taskr.dev with AI

Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps can work with your Taskr.dev tasks: ask what to work on next, add tasks and put them where they belong in your list, mark them done, comment, and see what your teammates are working on. You connect an app by signing in to Taskr.dev, as you do here; there are no keys to copy.

Taskr.dev's address for AI apps (its MCP server) is:

https://www.taskr.dev/mcp

AI agents reading this: the details are in llms.txt and the OpenAPI description.

What an app can do

  • When you connect an app, you choose one place for it: one of your organizations, or your Personal tasks. It works only there. To use it somewhere else too, connect it again.
  • It can see, create, change, prioritize, close and reopen tasks, comment on them, and see who's in the organization and what each person is working on.
  • It can't make agent tokens, change organizations or who's in them, sign you out, or delete your account.
  • Most apps ask you before each change. Reading your lists doesn't need asking.
  • To disconnect an app, go to your profile and use Disconnect under Connected Apps. Signing out in all locations disconnects every app.

Claude

On Claude.ai, then in the Claude desktop and mobile apps too. Free plans can add one custom connector; Pro and Max can add more.

  1. Go to Customize > Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Taskr.dev and enter the address above. If Claude asks how to sign in, choose Sign in now and Use Claude's published identity. Leave the client ID and secret empty.
  3. Choose Add, then Connect. Sign in to Taskr.dev, choose where Claude works, and choose Allow.
  4. In a chat, open + > Connectors and make sure Taskr.dev is on.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds Taskr.dev once in Organization settings > Connectors (Add, then Custom), and then each member connects with their own Taskr.dev account under Customize > Connectors.

ChatGPT

With Developer mode, on the web, on paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education).

  1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings (under Security and login, or Apps > Advanced settings, depending on your version).
  2. Create an app with the plus button under Apps: name it Taskr.dev, enter the address above, and choose OAuth to sign in.
  3. Sign in to Taskr.dev, choose where ChatGPT works, and choose Allow.
  4. In a chat, open + > Developer mode and choose Taskr.dev.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http taskr https://www.taskr.dev/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose Taskr.dev to sign in.

Codex

codex mcp add taskr --url https://www.taskr.dev/mcp
codex mcp login taskr

Signing in opens your browser. In the Codex IDE extension, add it under MCP servers as a Streamable HTTP server instead.

Other AI apps

Any app that supports remote MCP servers can connect to the address above. It finds Taskr.dev's sign-in by itself (OAuth 2.1). An app that can't sign in can send an agent token instead, as an Authorization: Bearer header; make one on your profile.

Scripts and agents without MCP

Everything an AI app can do is also in Taskr.dev's JSON API. Make an agent token on your profile: it acts as you, in the organization you're in when you make it, until you revoke it or sign out. llms.txt is the short guide, and the OpenAPI description has every endpoint.

Things to ask

  • "What should I work on?"
  • "Add a task to send the invoices, due Friday, and put it above the newsletter."
  • "Which of my tasks are at risk of missing their deadline?"
  • "Mark the invoices task done and note that I emailed them."
  • "What is Sam working on this week?"
